Short-term learner insurance, with owned car
I'm 23, male and currently looking at the cheapest way to insure a car while on my provisional license to practice alongside my final lessons and actually pass. However, I own the vehicle I want to insure.
I'm usually good at my research but most "short-term" insurers that i'm finding have "the car must have an existing annual policy" somewhere in the little writing. As far as I can see Collingwood Learners is the only one I've found that doesn't say this, unless it's hidden somewhere, and quoted me £270.35 for 6 months.
Can anyone else suggest other short-term insurers for a car I own with no existing policy?
A little info for those who like to question the unrelated:
The car is currently SORN'd and awaiting insurance before I can tax it.
I'm the owner and keeper, and for anyone interested its a '98 Daewoo Matiz (0.8L SE+ model and the cheapest car I found to buy&insure&run after much research)
Stupidly, I went for an annual policy last year when I was a student, but it was an expensive £1650 (and yep, it was the cheapest annual policy I found) that left me with little to pay for the remaining lessons. Luckily I found Admirals NCB carry over from provisional policies, and quoted me £670 for when I pass! (Oh how I wish I still had that £1650 now!)
