Aircon service: ATS, Halfords, or Mobile?

Options
My Skoda Fabia has never had its aircon attended to. I thought that was Ok as I do very little mileage. Someone told me I was wrong.

I get awful condensation in the car too.

In my area the options are Halfords, ATS, and a couple of mobile outfits. All at much the same price.

Any thoughts which to choose?

I live to the east of bournemouth

Does your aircon work? If it does, then it doesn't need looking at. You should run it from time to time, even during the winter.

As for the condensation, that would suggest you have a water leak into the car from somewhere - maybe a door/window/sunroof seal, blocked drain channel under the bonnet or a leaking heater matrix for example. You just have the fun job of trying to find out where!

If you have a fan heater (or can borrow one) you can try running it in the car with the windows open an inch or two for a couple of hours to dry the inside of the car out.

Pointless at this time of year really. Its too cold.

It varies between places but generally between 10 and 15 degrees you wont notice if its working properly or not.

The checks they do to check the temp are not accurate at those temperatures.

personally I wouldn't touch Halfords with a bargepole, and would only use ATS on a personal recommendation for the particular branch, same with mobile outfits. There seem to be almost a dozen indies in So'ton, why not sidle into a couple of local small garages and simply ask them who they use for customer's cars?

Again thanks for info. Actually I am not that near S'oton and getting to and fro if I had to leave the car could be a problem. Actually I am near the western end of the New Forest.
