Part-ex deal opinions?
I'm thinking of changing my car. Mine is an '02 plate and has done 91k miles which is below average but it's just cost me £250 to get it through the MOT and also had another repair job done last month. It's in very good overall condition although has a small spot of rust starting near the rear arch, the window seals are…

Natural reaction to P-plates
The brother has passed his test and has a car. Thinking of getting him P-plates so that other road users give him a break. But for some weird reason I think it may evoke the opposite behaviour i.e. they become impatient, want to overtake, don't let him in a queue etc. Am I right or are the plates beneficial still?

Saving money on MOT failure
I just took my car in for an MOT and I got a call about faults. Two I knew about, headlight bracket broken, wiper broken. I didn't think these would cause MOT fail but apparently they would so I asked about fixes. I was quoted £240 for a new headlight, plus £20-£30 labour. I was quite taken aback by this because I was…

Also there is no spare wheel or tool kit just a puncture repair kit with generator and…

Car Electrical Connector - I cant remove it? How?
Its a connector from an Aircon pressure sensor. The car aircon is external temperature intermittent which gives us an impression that the pressure is low, and pressure is falling with the cold temperature as the gas becomes a liquid. We want to fail the system into thinking it has enough pressure before taking it for a…

I recently received a quote for my car insurance renewal but thought to test a few comparison sites first. I rang up to question this and they said its becauae my job…

1.4 petrol Vs 2L diesel for fuel economy
I need to begin a search soon for a more economical car and have really narrowed it down to either a 1.4 petrol or 1.8/ 2L diesel Mainly motorway driving as I do a 56mile round trip to and from work but cant get my head around which type of engine is likely to return the best fuel economy. I think a 1.2 petrol would be too…
