As above and look at Autoaid. You get Roadside, Relay, Homestart. Both you and wife/partner covered for ANY vehicle you may be in and only £38 for the two of you.0

Looks like it's time to query why you need a breakdown service, do you have an unreliable car? Over those five years, how much have you paid out for a service you haven't used? Unless you have an old heap, it's far better to simply put that money aside in case it's ever needed. In thirty years of motoring I have never subscribed to AA/RAC, only ever needed assistance once, work out how much I have saved.
Looks like you got nicked by the Grammar Police too! Not your day, Muscle!0 -
Stick with the AA they are very good, but ring them up and say your unhappy with the price, they will cut it. We got a renewal for £380-odd for a family policy, I told dad it's time to shop around. As a new customer I found out we could get it for much less, he rang up and pointed this out, they said they could match it, he said that's no good, I've been a customer for decades and all you can do is match the price of a new customer, they went away again and came back with another £80 off.0

boasting in november to a friend that i havent paid a penny in recovery charges/breakdown fees this last 25 years as i do self recovery
next day i broke down in the truck and had to pay £100 to get vehicle back to work
so £100 x 25 years =£2500 saved less £100=£2400 saving proper mse i think
so i think im still laughing with my slush fund for emergencies0 -
I re-join the AA each year as a "new member" via a cashback site - so I get the lower price and (eventually) money back too! This year my renewal came through at £166; I rejoined for £99 and I'm due to get £40 back on that.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls
MSE: many of the benefits of a helpful family, without disadvantages like having to compete for the tv remoteProud Parents to an Aut-some son

I did that to, although I upped my renewal to £105 (with cover for me and not the car) and recieved £60 cashback ^^0 -
Try German ADAC for a Euro-wide roadside assistance cover (locally they use the AA). It's only €79 (around £72) a year and is better than the AA's home recovery plan, not restricted to a car, etc."Retail is for suckers"

Will they sell to non-German residents?What goes around - comes around0 -
I had to call a towtruck once, cost me about £60. Can't see the point of breakdown service.0
