Best way to dispose of unwanted vehicle
Hi there A friend and I were looking into the legalities of getting rid of an old 1993 car with 250k miles. It isn't needed now, looks a wreck, and ran off red diesel, so the engine's getting it tight. Ideally we'd like to roll it down a steep public hill and into a wall; but were also thinking of the gasolene / fireworks…

Repairing/treating rust on car
Hi all, I've searched around for info on this but there is so much conflicting advice. I have a small area that was initially scratched and then repaired (really just touched up). A small area of paint has since chipped, leaving some exposed metal (about 0.5cm sq.) which has started to rust. I'm not sure on a few things:…

Free MOTs for 'Life' - That would make me dead then! :)
I purchased a car from the Caffyns group (many garages in Sussex), 7 years ago. with the car I got a free MOTs for life voucher, as I was planning on keeping the car for a while this was a good selling point plus I’m a bit handy with a spanner so I perform a full service and do a mini MOT before every test and it almost…

They are offering to sell it to me for £10.7K. does this sound OK? The care has been looked after. The price for new lease contracts is so…

Every death on UK roads mapped
The link is http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15975720 I'm not sure if this has been talked about or if it's a new thing, but I've only just seen it. It's a bit "morbid curiousity", but type in your postcode and it'll show you where people have died since 2002 and it gives you an idea of the blackspots in the area. The map…

Terrible conditions this morning, black ice everywhere..... But what's with these silly folk who feel the car start to slip a little and then slam on the brakes? What's gonna happen? Seriously? Traction control or 4x4 in ice and snow?
Hi all, We have a light layer of frozen snow here this morning and according to the forecast there is more snow to follow. My husband's car has traction control, mine is a 4x4. I won't be needing my car this week, so he can use whichever one he wants. I've googled and I think traction control helps to stop the car…

Riding a moped with car licence?
Can someone explain the rules about riding a moped. I passed my moped CBT in June 2009 and it says it lasts for two years. I took and passed my car test in Nov 2010 but the bottom wording of the CBT isn't very clear. It appears to say the CBT covers for the duration of the licence but it's just not clear. I tried to look…

Who else hates driving in the dark?
I hate it ...but it's necessary. Drivers with full beams....cars / vans higher than mine - and their headlights in my mirror.. cyclists without lights - dark clothes.. Pedestrians crossing - and not at lights or zebra crossing.
