?Tail/Stop lights Honda Civic 1.4i 2000 model
Hi dear,
A very stupid question here. I have a 11 year old Honda Civic 1.4i S 5 door hatchback. Its Stop light lamps at the rear are not working. The tail light comes on when I turn on the headlights but no extra light lights up when I press the brake pedal.
I am trying to change the bulbs myself but am not sure of the position. When I tried looking at the bulbs, on the right hand side there is a bulb on the top (marked with an arrow in the picture) but none corresponding on the left side and there is no space for one either.
The dual filament bulbs on the bottom on both sides look a bit black but I could not see a break in any of the filaments.
Any help highly appreciated.
This is not my car but my car is the same model.

Thats probably the fog light. Combined stop/tail light.
Its probably the switch.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
If it's got dual filament bulbs they will be the stop/tail lights without fail..no pun..;).
If they've gone black there's every chance the bulbs have failed.
If it's not the bulbs get yourself a cheap screwdriver type sharp pointed circuit tester, put ignition on and a brick on the brake pedal and prod away till you find the faulty connection or switch.
Seeing the light you've arrowed doesn't have a identical bulb holder the other side that will be the single rear fog light.0 -
Thankyou. I will replace the dual filaments bulbs n let u know.

Thanks
Why? Do you really think that the left, right and high level brake light bulbs have all failed together? If there is no voltage getting to the bulbs, it will be the switch or wiring! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Thanks but the high level central brake light is working. Also the tail lights on both the bulbs are working with the headlights.I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0
