VW Polo Bluemotion low mpg
I just bought my new Polo BlueMotion as you may have guessed I got it for the great mpg VW says it can do. They quote it can do 80.7 mpg on the combined cycle. This grants the Polo BlueMotion a theoretical range of over 800 miles on one tank of diesel. Even taking into account that all car manufactures over state the mpg…

National Rail 2012 Fare increases
Because of the Government's u-turn on rail fare policy, the release of next year's fares have been delayed in most cases. Usually next year's fares would have been released by now, but it now appears that tickets sold for travel next year will be sold at the new prices from 20 December.…

AA Breakdown Policy T&C's
[FONT="]Perhaps I've misunderstood the T&C's of the AA Breakdown cover policy (Feb 2011) but on the top of Page 20 it states "for Members with Annual cover: subject to any other statutory rights the Member may have, there will be no right to cancel...". The policy document is easily downloadable from their web site.…

Windscreen washers
Hi all, OK, you know when you pull the lever to wash water over your windscreen, well it makes a noise (well it does on my megane). Mine has stopped working and the noise has stopped too. Have looked for a fuse for it but cant find one on the car, does anyone think it could be the pump? TIA, Paul. 2005 Renault Megane.

Car Repair Dilemma - to fix or not?
Hi, I have that age old problem: my car will cost around £750 to replace turbo and gasket (parts, labour and VAT); however, due to the 'massive' amounts of thick black smoke and copious quantities of oil everywhere, it is not possible to know whether it needs a new cat as well. Coupled with that there is the possibility…

Car Service Plan a good idea?
Took my car in for a 30,000 mile service today (only done 24k), and was offered a 3 year service plan. It was at the Lexus dealer, but is offered through EMAC. You pay for 30k service @ £200 (should be £240), then £35 x 20 months for the next two service points, 40k and 50k. You get money back if you sell the car (unused…

Funny (or not so funny!) noises
Hello, I was wondering if anyone might have any ideas with what could be wrong with my Y reg 2.0 Golf (petrol). Its obviously motion connected as its barely noticeable at low…

Best brand tyres? Please can someone advise?
Hi all, I'm looking around for a new pair of tyres for the front of my car which will have good traction and will help me get up a fairly steep slope to where I live in the snow. My car is FWD so front tyres are quite important. The tyres are 185 60 R14 and I've compared online prices to local places and there doesn't seem…
