Vauxhall Tigra '54' Fault Code P1555 - Advice Required

Hi to all at the MSE Forums!

This morning I went to drive my '54' plate Vauxhall Tigra to work but the throttle wouldn't respond at all. The engine was idling at around 1000rpm and the car would only move to a maximum of around 5mph.

The 'engine with bandage light' is illuminated, and after performing the 'brake and accelerator pedal' tip I got fault code P1555 - Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) Load Signal Not Plausable with Engine Load C-09.

Is there anyone with an auto mechanics background that can explain what this means, and also provide possible solutions with a rough estimate of cost to get this fixed.

As I said this only happend this morning, and the car was fine when I drove it a round trip of 100 miles to work the previous day.

Thanks to all in advance!
