Vauxhall Astra doors freezing

Hot water down the door shut lines.0

Dont use water, I did this years ago and by the time I reached my destination a few miles away the water was frozen solid and I couldnt open my doors or windows.0

Try squirting the seals and handle mechanism with GT85 or if nothing else WD40.
I find GT85 better as it tends to dry yet stops water penetration and protects really well from frosts and such.
It's mainly used on bikes to stop the working parts rusting as it prevents water ingress. Sold in Halfords and any good bike shop.
I'd just spray the stuff liberally all around the door and where it meets the bodywork and leave it to dry.0 -
Wipe the door seal rubbers with vaseline or silicone grease. Stops the water from sticking the rubber and metalwork together. It also rejuvinates them and makes a better seal.0

Use silicone spray lubricant (or yes grease as above), anything else is a waste of time and could damage your door seals.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Silicone spray or wax based furniture polish. Everyone used to think i was mad buying the cheapo tins of polish
and spraying all the rubber door and boot seals.
Until they noticed how easily my doors opened.
Seems a lot of polishes are no longer wax mased though.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
