Mini Cooper Wheel Noise?
I'm just wondering if anyone can give me some suggestions, really! I'm a relatively new driver, so my descriptions may be quite bad... I drive an 08 Mini Cooper, and today used it to move a computer and some other things. On the way there were some speed bumps, and the wheels started to feel a bit odd. I drove it around a…

Being blocked in by Neighbour..legalities?
I've just had words with my neighbour for blocking me in because he could not get onto his parking bay as someone had taken his allocated space already. I got annoyed because he took it out on me by blocking me in rather than parking behind the offending car in his space. When I raised the issue with him he apologised but…

Used Cars
Hello I have just bought a used car I paided in cash which was £4000. After having the car for a few days I noticed a number of problems. The driver side door has a mark and the petrol flap is a different colour to the rest of the car. The garage I bought the car from said they would sort this problem, but has since made…

Possible to SORN part time / Tax part time?
Hi, I've been offered a good price on a beautiful old jag, which I'd love to tempt myself by, but just checking some of the facts first! Firstly, a monster V12 is going to cost a bomb to insure, even with very low annual mileage the cheapest quote was well over double what I pay on my dull everyday car... My plan was to…

Best time of year to buy brand new car + can you haggle on low value new cars?
Following on from my previous thread, I was looking to buy a nearly new small car with the criteria being as new as possible (for remainder of warranty) and as low emissions as possible - budget was 5k. I'm now being tempted by the new shape Picanto as I figured that if I sell in the future it's likely to retain it's value…

Safe well built car for someone with a baby - Low Insurance cost
Hello there, I am going to be sitting my test this year (at 30 something - kept putting it off) and hopefully passing - my instructor is rather optimistic and has said to have a look at cars. I am at a loss as to what car is best for someone with a baby and have only ever driven a Ford Focus and a Volkswagen Polo and to be…

Should I get Autoaid?
I do a fair amount of miles a year (~20k) and I have always gone with AA or RAC for breakdown cover. If all I am interested in is recovery to anywhere in the country then would Autoaid be suitable? My car is currently less than 10 years old. Is it true your car must carry a spare wheel to be eligible to join? Thanks

What wheels?
What 13" wheels do I need for a MY2010 Kia Picanto? (and what other cars can I get said wheels from) Can't really find a clear answer anywhere, 4x100 seems to be a popular guess - does anyone know for sure?

Redex
Just bought some Redex petrol injector additive from Wilkinsons for half price. I was just wondering what will happen if I stick the whole bottle in with a quarter of a tank of petrol? Says to use half the bottle with a full tank. :D

If no one admits liabilty to a car accident then what happens??
Will i still be compensated as if the other party did admit liabilty but of course they havent, the traffic police couldnt find who was at fault. Part of the claim is being dealt with by DAS Legal and they seem to be taking forever, I am also waiting for them to sort out physiotherapy for quite severe back and neck injury…

Car insurance: "wife" more expensive than "partner"???
Hi It's insurance renewal time. I'm due to get married soon after the renewal date, so I've just done 2 quotes to see if being married made my insurance much cheaper. To my shock, my insurance is £40 more expensive with me and my "wife" insured to drive than it is with me and my "common law partner". I'm confused: 1. That…

Mechanic recommendations in Ashford, Kent
Morning all, I'm wondering if anyone has any personal recommendations for a good / trustworthy mechanic in Ashford? Only moved to the area a couple of months ago & my daughters Nissan Micra decided it didn't fancy starting yesterday. AA think it's a blockage in the fuel pipe or similar & they will come back & tow to a…

Automatic gearbox question
We went to have a test drive in an 1 year old automatic 1.6 tdi golf which has the dsg box but when the sales person started the car and set off the car stalled. Because the car had been standing for some time the sales person wanted to drive down the road and back to "clean the brakes" and when he came back and reversed…

Motorcysle frame - Scrap value?
Hi, Not sure if this is the right forum but motoring seemed appropriate! :D Feel free to move if necessary! Annoyingly theres an (equally) few miles distance…
