Motorcysle frame - Scrap value?

Hi, Not sure if this is the right forum but motoring seemed appropriate! :D Feel free to move if necessary!

I have an old steel motorcycle frame taking up space in the shed - originally bought as parts bike so now redundant.

Is there any value is selling it as scrap metal? Annoyingly theres an (equally) few miles distance to either scrap dealer or council run tip so would prefer some advice before roping someone into carting it down there!

TIA :)

The best people to ask would be a motorcycle breakers. They will need to know the make and model of bike that the frame is for and they will be able to give some idea if there is any value.

Dont forget Ebay. Its amazing what sells.

  • I took a motorbike frame (complete with engine), a washing machine, a cooker and some gate posts in a few months ago and got the princely sum of £44.
Worked out about 17p a kilo.
  • If you know the make and model of the frame, why not eBay or GumTree? Or look for an owners forum on the web.
