Roundabout question
ok, this may be daft, but bear with me. Roundabout near my house has recently been redone with new lanes (to try to stop all the accidents) As I approach, there are 2 lanes. One has just a left arrow in it (no straight on one), the other has a straight on and right arrow. There are 4 exits. Which lane would you use, for…

I am still a student (graduating) hence price would be taken into consideration. p/s: I am based in Birmingham. x

Getting out of a car lease
We are 8 months into a lease and pay £310 per month. Our financial situation has changed and we can no longer afford this, the lease company will not allow us to downgrade. If we sell the car, we won't make enough to pay off the finance. Where can we go from here? What would happen if we simply stopped paying?

There are just so many idiots on the road, I dont know if its just us that attract them or if we are just unlucky, a few examples Last year DH was driving home from work, entered a roundabout at the same time as a woman to the left of him, she took…

Need a cheap-to-insure family car
Hi there! long term lurker here. I am shocked at the cost of car insurance at the moment! I'm paying £560 a year for 3rd party F&T for a 14 year old 1.4l Corsa at the moment. I'm 30 and passed my test just over a year ago. Said Corsa has given up the ghost and is a bit small for us (three kids and hubbie). Looked at the…

Honda service-where should I go
I have a Honda Jazz, which needs an annual service (it's actually well overdue). I have used the local Kwik-Fit for my MOT for the last 2 years as it's literally a 20 second drive away and they haven't unreasonably charged me for anything (the last MOT they didn't feel anything was needed for it to pass). The full service…

Hi all, Just taken my 2001 Rover to the garage with the plan of getting the cam belt replaced after 85k miles (bought 2nd hand so not sure if it's been done before). They've just called to list the faults with it and what I may need doing. Some of these were noted on my previous service in 2009, but haven't really caused…

buy a car or not bother dillemma
Since I retired I hardly use my car because I get free bus travel, I only did 2000 miles in the past year. Also it needs work done to it as it is rusting away, 4 new tires, new brake pads and shoes and is basically ready for the scrap heap. Plus it has some dents and looks terrible. I have had my car for 10 years. My…

Is it economical to buy a Honda Jazz 1.2?
My dh and I must buy a 'new' car. Our budget is £3500-4000, but I am having real difficulty finding something in this price bracket. I am buying in NI which helps. My dh wants either a 1L petrol, or a diesel, and it must be either Honda, Nissan, Toyota or VW before he will consider it. I came across a Jzz 1.2 petrol, low…

Yesterday my cam belt failed and i need some advice please. The car is a Renault Scenic 7 years old this month, the belt was replaced by a local garage end July 2009, just 4198 miles ago. Obviously i would have expected the belt to have lasted longer than that and now it has broken there will be possibly about £1500 damage…

train offers? going glasgow to london in july
Hi guys, I’m going to London Monday to Friday in July and was advised to wait to book train fares 6 weeks in advance as that is when the best offers are about. However, I’m struggling to find any good deals and reluctant to pay £50+ per ticket each way as it eats into my small budget. Does anyone know of any special offers…
