Switching network/saving message history
Has anyone switched phone networks recently? I'm going to keep the same phone and the same number but will I lose message history/whatsapp history etc? Can I back these up first somehow? I take it existing apps and photos will remain on the phone? It is an iphone 6.

Roaming or new payg for holiday
I hope someone can help me. Im going to New Zealand for 3 weeks soon and Im a bit concerned about my mobile phone bill if I take the one I use here in England. Calls from there to the UK seem to be around 80p a minute and I assume I would have to pay to receive texts as well as send them - and I receive quite a lot of…

charges for unsubscribe sms
Dear all, I have received a couple of spam text messages with an option to unsubscribe. To unsubscribe you have to send a text message, which comes with its own cost, but I am being charged even on an unlimited text message contract. is this fair? I do get a warning saying I will be charged, but it seems wrong to charged…

Vodafone declined perfect credit history
I recently applied for a Vodafone SIM-only contract and I was declined during the credit check. This of course made no sense as I have perfect credit history. I have a 20 year+ record of perfect credit, with always on-time mortgage payments, credit card payments, overdraft payments, etc. I even have an o2 contract…

Orange damaging credit rating
Hi To cut a very long story short. I checked my credit rating on Noddle and found that it had dropped substantially due to an Orange "late payment "for £14 I have had no bill or demand from them, I have been with them for years and always paid DD. This happened when I changed from Orange to EE (same company?) I have now…

LG Customer Service is appalling!
Hello fellow MSE forum users! I was interested if anyone else has had a similar experience to me? I have recently had an extremely poor experience with LG Customer Service regarding my mobile. Basically, the screen started freezing and fading to black, so I phoned up to ask if they would replace the phone as it was still…

O2SignalBoosters - Use Caution!
Hello all, Having succumbed to what appears to be an online scam, I am sharing my experience so that it will hopefully stop others from losing any money. Having recently moved to a rural home, and having found my O2 mobile signal to be very poor, I researched mobile booster companies and found O2SignalBoosters.co.uk. The…

Three Unlock...?
There's a smartphone I'm quite tempted by on Envirophone, but it's locked to Three. This webpage (https://www.three.co.uk/Support/Device_Unlock) suggests that you can unlock any device locked to Three for free. Is this true? The form asks for your name and address, etc, but the phone obviously won't be linked to me…

vodaphone iPhone 6 plus
My boyfriend has developed a fault with his iPhone 6 plus, the silent switch is not working and this looks like it is a very common problem with the 6's. He took it to the Vodafone shop who sent it away for repair and said that if it was a manufactures fault it would be repaired and sent back in a minimum of 10 days. We…

iPhone failure - o2 - Won't replace
Good afternoon all, I had a good search through the forum to see if I could find the answer to this but no joy, although I'm sure this will have been covered before. My iPhone 6 was purchased through o2 in Oct 14 and now 15 months old. Over the last few weeks a few issues have been spotted but only just had chance to get…

Budget Monthly Smartphone Deals?
My phone is grinding to a halt (no space left, cracked screen etc). I bought it outright a couple of years ago and pay £12 a month on Giffgaff (pre-pay) for the 3GB package. I'm thinking maybe I can find a pay monthly deal for a new phone that is not much more than the £12 I'm paying now. The only thing is that I need…

Vodafone Pay As You Go Voucher Scam
Feeling very silly... Today I received a text saying it was from Sarah, and that she had been taken into hospital and needed a favour. Upset on her behalf, I, of course, agreed to the favour - buying a £20 Vodafone top up voucher and texting her the code. So far so stupid, but I then went on to do ANOTHER one after she…

Using your phone to pay for items through your phone bill
Hi, after some advice please. I've read somewhere that you can use your contract mobile phone to pay for items and the money gets added to your phone bill. Does anyone know anything about this and what it can be used for as I can't find the article or website anymore. Thankyou.

Is it possible to get data from an old mobile to a new mobile via an SD card?
Had an S3 which is dying a slow death. I had an SD card in with 32GB of space. The card was purchased from Currys in a store about 2 years ago so I'm fairly sure it's a genuine card and didn't have any issues with using it. However, I then managed to get a Huawei phone, (Android) and it also takes SD cards. I "unmounted"…

Vodafone - now even their contact form doesn't work?
I have been trying to communicate with Vodafone, and failing miserably. All I wanted was an unlock code for a phone I've had for a couple years, contract paid-up. It should take 2 days, I filled in their form, that was on 5 Jan. I had questions about my bill too, so I tried to ask the Live Chat people, who wasted 90…

Anywhere sim - UK & EU roaming sims, elderly/child/car
Roaming on o2 (home network) and I believe Voda and EE, Manx Telecom (ex o2) have launched this service. 10p calls and per MB, 5p texts. The cheaper 5p text, call or MB is o2 outgoing only but allows incoming activity on all 3 UK networks. The EU sim is 12p calls, 10p a MB and all texts to all EU countries is 5p. You can…
