Roaming or new payg for holiday
Options
I hope someone can help me.
Im going to New Zealand for 3 weeks soon and Im a bit concerned about my mobile phone bill if I take the one I use here in England.
Calls from there to the UK seem to be around 80p a minute and I assume I would have to pay to receive texts as well as send them - and I receive quite a lot of texts.
Im thinking it might be better to take a payg phone and sim with me instead but no idea what Im doing.
Skype I vaguely understand and can use at a push but my main concern is receiving calls or txts and my bill being horrendous when I get back.
Any help please

I would take a Three PAYG sim and use "Feel At Home":

New Zealand is covered.
Buy the sim, choose and Add-on that suits, top up and buy, all before you go.
You'll have 30 days of overseas use, all included in the add-on.0 -

Receiving texts will cost you nothing at all. Switch off your voicemail before you depart.
As above for calling back to the UK, and buy a local SIM on arrival to use for calls within NZ.
Use WhatsApp for calls to other users, do this via local wi-fi and it will be free.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
UK landline calls are capped at $2 for 60 mins http://help.vodafone.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/22983/kw/international%20calling
https://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz 69c a minute, but Voda UK connectivity not available https://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/help-and-support/personal/mobile/products-and-services/calling-and-texting-overseas/
Spark (rebadged NZ Telecom) 91c a minute or UK/Ireland $9 pack, 200m and 100 txts http://www.spark.co.nz/shop/mobile/mobileinternationalcalling.htmlSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0
