I only want to unlock a payg 2g phone 3 years service with tesco.

Has anyone waited the full 28 days i was told it could take.

Phoned up again and got a code for the LG tesco 2g phone, its not accepted and tesco have said sorry and will have to contact LG again for a new code. A simple procedure seems difficult to obtain it seems.

When i tried the code i had 2 options on screen.
1 = unlock network provider, clicked on that and message said your phone is not personalised.

2 = service provider lock, clicked on that and put in the code i was given and not accepted.
I have a NCK code but i have seen there is also a SPCK code, they may have sent the wrong one.
Would like to see what code any tesco unlockers were sent.

May have to wait to see what tesco come up with, but it may be they dont like people leaving their network and make it difficult.

I have had a couple of payg phones unlocked by them, in each case I wasn't leaving them.

They couldn't provide a code for one of them, so I sent it to them and they sent it back unlocked - all at their expense.

Not sure why you think that was poor customer service.

They said they would povide a code but couldn't, so they unlocked it with all postage costs at their expense. Freepost to them and Special Delivery back. No complaints from me.

And how long were you without your mobile ? Because they could not sort a issue with their supplier?

    It is poor...

I wasn't without my phone, but don't let the facts stop you from thinking otherwise. I already had a new phone anyway.

From memory it was around 7-10 days from me asking to me getting the phone back. If you check the link you provided you will see that it says "Up to 7 working days (a small number of devices may take up to 28 calendar days)" so there was no problem.

I posted to answer the OP's question as to whether anyone had had a phone unlocked by Tesco and have done so. There was a problem doing so, but they rectified it with no fuss and within the timescales. If some want to find that bad customer service its up to them.
