Anyone unlocked tesco phone through tesco?

From memory it was around 7-10 days from me asking to me getting the phone back. If you check the link you provided you will see that it says "Up to 7 working days (a small number of devices may take up to 28 calendar days)" so there was no problem.


I posted to answer the OP's question as to whether anyone had had a phone unlocked by Tesco and have done so. There was a problem doing so, but they rectified it with no fuss and within the timescales. If some want to find that bad customer service its up to them.

You were indeed without it^ you stated such. No one should have to be without or buy a new phone just to send back a mobile to the telco to get unlocked with a code.



The Ofcom link says unlock code, nowhere does it imply it is acceptable to not have use of your mobile by having to send it away for a code to work.


OP report Tesco to Ofcom, they should provide 1 code that works, not multiple, Tescos contract with LG is not your concern, one request for unlock code and the job should be done with the first code they provide within 28 days.


Sent a phone in for unlocking, what a farce.

Now been told 2 codes are needed,
1 NCK code
2 SPCK code

Just more delay.

log a complaint with Ofcom and Ombudsman if it comes to that.

I would still have to send the phone though in the meantime.
I would chance a ebay code but if i get the wrong one it could mess things up.
