Pay as you go - Back to basics
I've got myself a backup phone to go permanently in my car and I'm having a bit of trouble figuring out who offers a very basic PAYG sim card with no additional fees beyond the initial starting credit. I notice a lot of plans now have some form of monthly fee or seem to expire after 30 days. It's been a long time since…

Whatsapp
My daughter has installed WhatsApp on my phone. I cannot see the point of this. She has made a group of herself, me and our son. I would have no use of any other groups, plus if I wanted to email D&S or text them both I can do this in seconds. I have now discovered there is a cost to WhatsApp but need an idiots guide on…

BT Mobile - High data bill. Feels like a scam
Hi all. I recently received a bill for over £700.00 for a month. Usually my bill is between £25 - £30. They have already taken the money by direct debit. After telephoning BT I was told this was due to the data charges. Basically I get 2gb of data with my package and I went over by about 1gb. I have checked on their…

Battery charging
I've read a lot of conflicting information about how best to charge a tablet or phone to prolong its battery life. Some say a battery should be completely drain before charging, others say it can be charged whenever you please. I picked up this article via Digital Spy: Although the article is specifically about iPhone…

Vodafone credit check declined with perfect credit history
I applied for a Vodafone SIM-only contract and I was declined during the credit check. This of course made no sense as I have perfect credit history. I have a 30 year+ record of perfect credit, with always on-time mortgage payments, credit card payments, overdraft payments, etc. I even had a Three contract a year or two…

Warning - T-Mobile/EE Contract Switch Unfair Data Charges
I cannot believe the injustice of this. It's the principle not the money in my case but it could be a lot worse for others depending on timing so I'm posting this as a warning. I was out of contract on a 1GB data allowance plan with T-Mobile and I was within my data usage limit for the month. I would not have exceeded it…
