Advice wanted - no signal on constant basis

Options
Hi all,

Just hoping for some advice here,

Took a contract out in June 2014, no problems, I've been with 3 for many years now on PAYG and PM. Started a new job in Peterborough area mid July, and I get no signal. Inside my shop, outside of it, it's not until I'm probably a mile away from the area that I actually get the signal

I rang 3 and they say the issues lies with a mast that's been down since 10th Sept, however this has been the same since I was there. Can they release me from the contract? Or what can i do? When I rang earlier they had no time scale on a potential fix, so were unsure of when it would be repaired...

I need a phone for work, I'm a store manager and it's like my lifeline - plus a bit of protection too! But obviously it doesn't work anywhere near my shop. He offered me £9.42 as compensation off my bill for 7 days worth of lack of coverage, when I asked to speak to someone more senior I got offered 1 month's line rental (£42ish) for the 2 months disservice, but again there's no time scale on potential repair,

Any advice?
I'm debating getting a contract out with a provider that I know works, and trying to get rid of this one?

  • As far as I'm aware, as long as they cover your home, they don't have to do anything for you? Vodafone have been having similar problems in my town, with the local mast constantly failing.

    Can you get wifi there?
If so can you use the 3 in touch app?

They have no obligation to cover your shop or home! You have limited time to reject service as unsuitible, so you'll be well past that. It is not sensible to commit to a minimum term for any mobile device - 30 days SIM only is the only way you can remain in control. You'll need to diarise you departure date, they've been understanding in offering credits, but this won't continue.
