My mum, 96, stopped paying car insurance when it came up in April as we were in lockdown (I'm quite pleased anyway) but still has the car, currently SORN. My brother and sis-in-law, from France, have just arrived to stay for a few weeks and would like to use it. Any recommendations as to how we should proceed?

automatic renewals - motoring, travel etc
I am absolutely infuriated by the policy now adopted by most insurers of automatically renewing policies unless the policyholder contacts them before the renewal date to instruct otherwise. This places the onus clearly on the policyholder - if you fail, you WILL be charged. Trying to contact insurers these days is a…

I took out a Staysure policy to cover a trip to the USA in April. The trip was cancelled due to Covid. I realised that I had not asked for a refund on the unused policy, so I called Staysure today. I’ve just discovered on doing a very thorough check of my bank account that even though I’ve had home insurance for about 8 years with L&G, I somehow have also managed to have home insurance for the past 5 years with More Than. I can only think that I had intended to cancel the L&G policy but never did. Essentially I have…
