Car impounded. I was unaware insurance had been cancelled by RAC.
Hello, I was wandering if anyone was able to offer some advice. I was pulled over by the police on the way home from work today and advised there was no record of insurance for my car. I had payed £450 upfront in July for 1 year of insurance for me as the main driver and my boyfriend as the 2nd driver with the RAC. I had a…

Hit by a drunk driver - insurance not valid?
Someone I know has had their car written off by a drunk driver. The offending party is insured by Tesco car insurance, and apparently they won't payout - obviously because drink driving would invalidate the insurance. Does that sound correct? I suppose the next step would be Civil action?

Car insurance comparison sites - premium affected!
I recently renewed my car insurance with Diamond. I had an email today asking for an extra £110 because of an accident they claim I didn't disclose. On speaking to them it turns out they check through quotes generated on comparison sites & found one listing an accident in Jan 2011. I didn't have an accident at this time…

She seems to be paying a lot for insurance despite the online broker saying they take the date she passed her french test and her french no claims history into account. Would it make any difference if she swapped to a full UK licence? Does anyone know any companies who…

A sorry tale about Hastings Direct car insurance
I found my current car insurer - Hastings Direct - using the MSE links to comparison sites. I made the assumption that these comparison sites do some form of vetting before allowing companies to quote via their 'shop window'. I don't think it unreasonable that insurance sold through these sites should be 'fit for purpose'.…

I've read that a select few insurers will allow you to carry forward your no claims bonus up to a period of three years break in your policy. I have a two years break and would ideally like to save as much money in the long run as possible. Does anybody know of a specific motorbike insurer that will allow a break in…

Please help. A couple of years ago I purchased from my bank manager an income protection policy. He was fully aware of my situation, that I work in the NHS and what was my salary.
