car ins charges

Dont know if i,m on the right site but here go,s. My car ins BUDGET asked me for proof of purchace of my car, which I photocopied and sent them. I recieved a letter 27/12/12. to say that my ins price has gone up.But worse than that they are charging me £30 for the privalige. what can I do?.

How much out were you from the figure originally given?
No-one expects you to be spot on with a price but you have to be within ballpark. If it was recently purchased then you would be expected to use the purchase price.
Administration tasks can incur costs. That is quite normal. Some will charge for things that others will not. The £30 sounds like an administration charge for them having to make a mid term correction to the policy.
Assuming the T's & Cs allow them to charge then it will be payable.0 -
What was different from when they quoted to the actual facts?
