Does swapping a french licence to UK lower premiums

Hi,
My girlfriend is french and has a french licence. She seems to be paying a lot for insurance despite the online broker saying they take the date she passed her french test and her french no claims history into account.
Would it make any difference if she swapped to a full UK licence?
Does anyone know any companies who are friendlier to foreign drivers?

Cheers Toby

I would expect a non UK licence holder to pay a premium.

If she has held her licence for some time then swapping is likely to increase the premium as she will then have a uk licence which she's only held for nil period of time, and will be rated as a new driver.
