Can some one give me a simple answer.
I had a non fault accident ( i believe) the other person kept saying i am sorry, i am sorry and 'i dont want to go through my insurance company'. My garage said oh yes you should and then gave me the number of 'Excel Law' to ring and they are now dealing with it. But i am fully comp with Direct Line.
Do I stay with Excell or do I go Direct Line?

If you are non-fault - you can pretty much choose your own path.
Your insurer will just call the Third Party Insurer and see if an accident has been reported or not. If it has, whether liability is accepted.
If it is accepted then they will probably refer you to a non-fault accident company themselves and take a commission for it.
If you are putting in a Injury claim and have a solicitor instructed, you will find it difficult to stop now anyway.0 -
If liability is fully admited by the other party, you don't need these accident claims companys, all you do is deal directly with their insurance company, they will sort it out for you far quicker. All yu need to do other than that is tell your own company about it and ensure that they know it is for 'information only'
Unfortunately, lots of ins. companies put premiums up at renewal whter at fault or not.
Not fair but that's what happens.
Sounds as if you have already got a claims management company involved so you may be too late.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
The advantage you have with excell over direct line is no hassle over using your own garage, no hassle over having to pay your excess and no hassle over your ncd being temporarily affected till dl get full reimbursement off the third party.
They should also make sure you get a replacement car if yours is off the road.
So now you have spoken with excell as well you may as well leave it with them.0
