Hi folks,

As someone who attempts diy now and again (but not always sucessfully) I just thought I would check my accidental cover with my insurer Churchill and it seems the motto is "be very aware" for any diyers or diy jobs that go wrong.

Reallt surprised though where it says if an electrician hooks up a plug or socket wrong, then you are not covered.

Any other companies with better cover for the over 50's such as castle or saga that you are aware of that provide better cover?

Thanks for any info.

The electrician should have his/her own insurance and you would be expected to make a claim from that.

If you had been doing the DIY yourself and have opted for accidental damage the I would imagine that you would be covered.

If you have employed a tradesman then they are responsible.
