Birds in the loft
I think I have got birds in the loft (pigeons I think) Would I have to get some poison to get them out? Or just block up where I think they are coming in from? I have no idea where this is at the moment. I think I can hear running around when I am upstairs.

Boiler nightmare
My boiler stopped working. Plumber came over. Said it needed a new expansion vessel kit. Paid him, he put it in, it worked for 14 hours before failing again. I paid £250. Now I am worried because it seems they are just replacing parts with no idea whether it will work or not - I am paying for trial and error until it…

Bosch washing machine - fixed!
Last week our 2.5 year old Bosch washing machine (WAQ28460GB/06) started tripping out the mains power. Initially we thought "just as well we got it from John Lewis", but then realised they extend the warranty to 2 years, as opposed to TVs that they do for 5. So rather than calling out the no doubt expensive repair people,…

Quote for loft conversion..is it excessive?
I have been getting companies to quote me for a loft conversion and today I received the first quote and I thought it was very high. I am not planning any fancy en-suit rooms...just a large play area for the kids. The total area of the loft is 396 square feet and the conversion will include 4 velux windows, no dormers, two…

what type of shower?
When I had my bathroom fitted the fitter drew the shower I had bought off the cold water feed, it wouldn't work, no pressure. I had to change it for an expensive pumped electric shower, a triton about £220. Fast foward 8 years, the shower has broke & needs replacing, only now have I discovered that electric showers should…

Need a Washing Machine with Guarantee
Hi everyone. My washing machine has broken down- after only 6 years of light usage (4 washes a week). Unfortunately my 5 year guarantee ran out just last year. I've had someone come and look at it and it will be cheaper to buy a new one then to get parts to repair it. I'm on a very tight budget at the moment and was…
