neighbour issue

Hi there,
I hope someone can advice me on a neighbor issue i'm having at the moment.
long story short:
I've never been on good terms with my neighbour. A couple of months back I decided to knock my garage down to rebuild an outbuilding (office space).
I have paid for an architect and paid for building control (project is all legit).
I have taken full video and photographic documentation of my neighbors garage before starting this project as I knew they would come up with something (unfortunately I live next to illogical people). There is a crack which has always existed on their garage and I have made sure to picture this before I commence with the works.
They are claiming that the crack is a result of our building works. They have send around their insurance company to look at it, and just today a guy from the council came around. I explained to the council all the facts and he smiled and just asked us to use a prop against their cracked wall (p.s. their garage is very very old and is far beyond safe).
I'd like to know what steps I could take at this point and what possible outcome could I expect with the council's visit?
Regards
Ken

Who came from the council?
Its up to the neighbour to prove that you damaged the garage. If you have photographic proof that it was like that prior to demolition, then you have nothing to worry about.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
