Birds in the loft

I think I have got birds in the loft (pigeons I think)
Would I have to get some poison to get them out? Or just block up where I think they are coming in from? I have no idea where this is at the moment.
I think I can hear running around when I am upstairs.

The poison would not get them out, it would kill them and if left unattended cause a smell!
I would say you need to do both - put poison down and block their method of entry. But do make sure you dispose of any bodies swiftly to avoid the aforementioned odour issue.YNWA

Can you get up there to check for any droppings / signs of damage? That would be my first step, to double check what is going on.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

DO NOT PUT POISON DOWN...............................
Use some commone sense and block up the entry point into the roof. This is best done in the Autumn or Winter, then there is no chance of blocking them out when they have young in the nest...
Can't believe numpties on here are suggesting using poison on birds......Be very careful as many bird species are protected under the law.0 -
Do nothing now but for Christs sake get up there and see what is happening.
You are living under whatever is there, why don't you simply get up the steps and take a look rather than asking here?????
Then, if it is bird and more particularly pigeons, leave it until November.
Nov is the only month in the year that squabs have not been found in pigeon nests.
Then fill the access hole,:wall::wall:
If that advice sounds patronising then maybe it is, but most domestic issues actually involve some input from the home owner and you do seem to know what the issue is??I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
