Toilet handle not reverting to horizonal position after flushing.
Hi folks, I have an older type at least 20 year old low level flush toilet, and have a problem where the handle is not reverting to horizontal after flushing. I'll just describe the handle type, it goes into cistern and then there is a horizonal bar at 90% on it. At the end of this bar is a wire which then attaches…

Help my boiler, please.
I was awoke at half 4 this morning when my heating kicked in. My boiler was squeaking, whistling or something similar, anyway it was an awful noise. The boiler is 6 years old. My dad said, it may just been because the exhaust pipe outside was potentially frozen (we had a horrid freeze overnight) and it was whistling…

Radiator in kitchen - is there any point?
Hi all, We have a radiator in the kitchen which takes up most of one wall, which could ideally be used for cabinets. We have it turned off at the thermostat control on the radiator itself since we moved in. I have no need for it, but wondered whether to keep it on or take it off? We cook nearly every day in the kitchen,…

Fitting a Semi Pedestal Basin to an Internal Wall
Hi All, I've bought a semi pedestal basin which consists of a basin and a sort of rounded 'pod' that fixes to the wall, supports the basin and contains the trap and pipework. Because of the small size and layout of my bathroom I want to install this on an internal wall but I've been told that semi pedestal basins like this…

Anyone got any tips? I would love to be able to see how my food is cooking without having to open the oven door (I want to bake a cake this weekend, so more crucial than checking on my oven chips). Just a quick question. We recently had some work done by a handyman/plumber and one of the things he fitted was a new ballcock in the toilet. Just noticed that this joint has a very small leak. Its more weeping rather than leaking. When he first did the job he turned the water on and there was a bit of a leak so he just…
