How much to change bricks in storage heater?

Options
Hi all,

I have a Creda Sensair storage heater that I have just started using for the first time this winter. It appears to only be hot on one side. I believe it may need new bricks or maybe even a new element.

Does anyone have any experience of this and how much it may cost?

Thanks for any help or further info.

Cheers Si

Bricks are bricks-there is nothing to fail. So it must be the element that is suspect.

  • Thanks macman. Yes I was having a moment. Ofcourse the bricks cannot fail! I did suspect the element, I will look at sourcing a spare and fitting it myself.

    Thanks for your reply. Cheers.
  • Before you buy a new element make sure it's not just the screws holding the element into the supply, that have worked loose.Obviously cutting electricity supply before you do anything.
  • to replace the element you will need to remove the bricks & these are very very heavy & alot of the old heaters also contain aspestos
