Hi had some new carpets fitted now need to take about 1 CMS off the bottom of a couple of doors. One is solid wood and the other is hollow. Best tools to use?
Is it easy for the unskilled?

Circular saw.
Just watch your fingers and make a few practice cuts on some scrap wood if you have not used one before.
Make sure the door (once off the wall) is on something flat and not going to move. its a two easy min job. Sand edges when finished.
Please be aware that power tools can cause serious injury and if your not happy then ask or pay someone to do it.
Oh and make sure you have a decent blade (not a rip).
Borrow or hire one.
EDIT: The exact saws are good for jobs like this and feel safer to use.0 -
and for goodness sake use a fence. Don't try and do it by eye along a pencil line.
