Ideal classic ff380 cut out
Recently moved in and we have an ideal classic boiler, 8 year old which I think may have issues. Now it's colder the issues are a little more obvious. How do most folk buy a new boiler ? (A) Ask a plumber to provide a price to supply and fit it, having seen the house to determine size etc. (B) client to work out the size, then buying the boiler, then ask the plumber to come and fit, after proving a cost for the fitting, to include any additional pipework etc. There seem…

Putting a Commando/CEE socket in the garage

The door has a single glazed window above it and it really does let a draft through and cools down the flat a lot. Does anybody have any tips for stopping the cold coming in? The cheaper the better. Curtain Shops
Not 100% sure whether this or the 'I wanna buy-it or do-it' board is the best place to post, but here goes nothing!! Today our mink/coffee sofas arrive and we'll need to look for curtains, but having found some online the reviews suggest that (despite being lined) those particular ones aren't great at keeping the light…

Fused spur, how to loose?
I have a single fused spur next to my fireplace, it powers a warm air fan heater. The wiring to the fan heater is surface run (it comes out from under the socket), it looks like a bit of a bodge job by the fella before us. This is all going as we are having a log burner installed and a fake chimney breast built. The…
