Totally hacked off by fridge/freezer repair man today!!

Oh I am so annoyed! My fridge broke down a couple of days ago (it was under warranty through domestic and general) so I called to arrange a repair man out, giving the details of the make and model etc. Booked the Friday off work (I'm unable to take much time off work due to the nature of my job) and sat waiting.
I had a missed call from him at 13.35 which I called him back at 13.44. He said he couldn't find me and now was at spaghetti junction (which is 20 miles from me!!). Because he had tried to call and I initially didn't answer he assumed I was out so went back to his depot. He also said 'I probably wouldn't be able to fix it anyway as I have no spare parts on me at all'. So what was the point of me giving you the make/model of my fridge etc and you coming out to me?
He THEN condescendingly asked to speak to my partner, as if being female i couldn't possibly understand what was being said to me.
I find it hard to believe he got within 20 miles of my house in 9 minutes I called him back. So I've wasted a day off work, been lied to and spoken to in a sexist manner and STILL have a broken fridge/freezer....It really is not hard to find my house on a satnav/map...so livid! Do you think I have grounds for a formal complaint? And to who exactly?

50/50 what a load of rubbish what happens if you need to spend a pennyare you meant to carry the phone with you all day waiting for their call???
And as you say when you called him he was allegedly 20 miles away in 9 minutes, with no parts on the van to do the repair!
Make sure you register this info along with your annoyance to D&G.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
I have just logged a complaint with a lovely lady from D&G.
Thanks for your help!

Hope you have more success next week and the poorly fridge is fixed
(mine went down last year a day before Christmas eve with all my Christmas foods , thing was it is a 6' AEG Fridge and the earliest we could get them out was after Christmas so we had to run out and buy a small fridge (that would fit in the car) to tide us over.
Total nightmare as I had to take everything out to get to what I wanted and we had cool bags everywhere with the not so perishable stuff (veg etc.) that did not need to be kept chilled. Now I have a spare fridge in my garage that has only seen barely two weeks use (as when the repair guy came he needed to order a new circuit board).
We were lucky when we bought the Fridge and matching Freezer from different places they both had an offer on the different products for free extended warranty to 5 years (D&G) and the Fridge was just about two years old when it went faulty so at least the repair was covered.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0
