Fused spur, how to loose?

Sideways
I have a single fused spur next to my fireplace, it powers a warm air fan heater. The wiring to the fan heater is surface run (it comes out from under the socket), it looks like a bit of a bodge job by the fella before us.
This is all going as we are having a log burner installed and a fake chimney breast built. The brickwork for one side of the chimney breast runs over the existing fused spur so it also needs to go. Can anyone advise on the best way to do this? I thought about removing the socket face and terminating the wires and then filling in the hole. Something tells me this may not be safe. Before I call in a spark (if I can get one to do such a small job) I thought I'd ask for advice here
Thanks!

Hi there, I would not advise on terminating then filling over. An electrician will carry out this work, I would imagine the fused spur will be spurred off the ring main, so back to the socket feeding it and remove the cable from that socket. You can then cover and fill. Its not a big job for a sparky to carry out and makes it easier since your also renovating.0

If the spur is no longer required you need to remove the cable back to the place from which it is spurred.
