Curtain Shops

Not 100% sure whether this or the 'I wanna buy-it or do-it' board is the best place to post, but here goes nothing!!

Today our mink/coffee sofas arrive and we'll need to look for curtains, but having found some online the reviews suggest that (despite being lined) those particular ones aren't great at keeping the light out.

So I'm wondering where I can go to actually see and feel curtains instead of looking online? So far we've only been to Dunelm Mill and the rest of the places seem to have the curtains all packaged up so not available to actually see or feel!

I'm in South Wales if that helps...

Do you have shaws the drapers...they always samples of their packaged curtains out...I think they may be a welsh company if not they are certainly in the south west....curtains very competativly priced and they also sell seperate black out liners that can sit alongside thinner curtains

Wilkinsons usually have a few on display...

places like B&Q or certainly the larger ones have a few on display as do Homebase I believe

  • Do you have a Paul Simon near you? They have quite an extensive range of ready mades on display.
  • DS and his GF recently bought some custom made curtains for their first flat online from Montgomery that they were very pleased with. They also do ready made plus matching cushions etc. I believe they will send out samples first and they also have concessions in many high street stores - Debenhams etc......might be worth a try?

Do I need it or just want it.
  • Last time I was in B&Q they had curtains and they were on display so you could feel them. Also in the Ebbw Vale Festival shopping centre there is a shop that sells curtains and duvet covers, again they are on display...I know I have noticed in there that they have some of the curtains that I have seen online so you could look at them there but buy online if it cheaper.
