Weatherproofing blockwork garage
Hi We've recently had my son's detached garage rebuilt - it's at the bottom of his garden and was very delapidated. To keep costs down, it was built on the original footprint, in single skin blockwork, with a pitched tiled roof. With the recent very heavy rains, there seems to be a lot of dampness penetrating the…

Another Powerflush query
I've just had a visit from BG regarding a fault on my CH system. The boiler wouldn't keep running. Started OK when the timer switched water and heating on but only ran for about 2 minutes and then switched off. The engineer removed the pump which was bone dry. He then used a magnet to locate a blockage which he cleared (?)…

Rockdoor Composites - good or bad?
Are Rockdoor composite doors the best? I've been hearing mixed reviews. Are they easy to fit or will I need a specialist RD fitter? Lastly, which design do you think looks better - Jacobean or Georgia? I love the Georgia but I don't like the fact there is a large glass pane for someone to try and knock in. Thanks!

What is the best flooring for a bathroom
First floor bathroom, so timber joists and floorboards underneath. Previously my wife (against my wishes) decided upon ceramic tiles, which were laid on plywood. These were OK, but a few have cracked .. no doubt caused by the slight movement of the timber floor. I think lino, or whatever it is called nowadays is the best…
