Uncommon washing machine brands

Options
I am looking for a washing machine and I got following within my budget.

Haier (2 yr warranty)
Daewoo (2 yr warranty)
Gorenje (5 yr warranty)

Not heard about these brands (I thought Daewoo made cars only :))

Searching on web does not reveal too much info on them. Though few reviews said good about Daewoo.

Which one I should go for?

Gorenje is a Slovakian product and probably at the lower-mid end of the European made product spectrum. Not bad for the money as long as you dont expect too much from it. Not sure about their service backup though.

Haier is Chinese and Daewoo is Korean as you probably know.

You have to appreciate though that you are getting what you are paying for.

Well, these brands are interesting because they are giving long warranties (2 years for Daewoo and Haier and 5-yr for Gorenje) in sub £300 level.

Most other brands offer 1 yr warranty.

At that level John Lewis sell an

    Indesit IWD5123 for £259
    or a
Zanussi ZWH6140P for £265 both with a 2 year warranty

They also sell their own make John Lewis JLWM1200 at £299 with a 3 year warranty extendable to 5 yrs for an extra £75

One needs to add £35 to John Lewis price for installation and recycle.

Kia sells cars with 7 year warranties. That doesnt make them a nice car. All you're getting is a mediocre without the worry of warranty repair costs.

If all you want is a dishwasher that will be repaired when it breaks down for a longer duration, but all means buy it. I personally prefer products that have a reputation for not breaking down.

I have a Kia and they are nicer than other cars on the similar budget. The longer warranty is an added bonus.

I know Daewoo is a big company and they are competent enough to make washing machines. But since they are not too common here, having spare parts (if things go wrong) can be a problem.

Manufacturers guarantee usually covers both parts and labor.
