Enviromentally Friendly Paint Remover
Is there a way that's enviromentally friendly to remove paint? I need to remove gloss around a cupboard door and a window frame - I've checked the ingredients and they all contribute to CFCs in the atmosphere (Kudos to the makers, they actually say that on the tin). Is there another alternative - I don't trust myself with…

Bay window curtain pole
I have a bay window which is proving a nightmare to fit for a curtain pole! I have found lots of websites which offer made to measure etc etc, but what I really want is someone to come to the house and measure and then go away and make the pole and fit it? Does anyone know of anywhere that does this? I'm at a…

Humidifiers
For the past two years I've been using my own 'home made' humidifiers which are just small glass tea candle holders regularly topped up with water. They fit quite neatly in the middle section of my radiators. Is this just as effective as using a 'proper' humidifier?

fixing basin to wall
Here's a link. As you can see the fixing holes consist of four holes, the small ones fine but I'm not sure what would be best for these very large holes. I was going to use spring or snap toggles but as the holes are so large I'm not sure what would be best. http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o18/daniellemullins/Img0165.jpg

Are B&Q likely to be doing 15% off kitchens in October?
We are planning a new kitchen and actually have all the doors we need. We just need the units to put them on, and the worksurfaces etc. We have been offered 10% via the Trade department plus we get a £100 voucher if we spend over £1k (increments of £100 spend gets a book stamped and 10 stamps gets us the voucher). I'm…

Help?! Heavy-Duty shelves on plasterboard. How to?
Hello! We've tried to hang some big bookshelves in the living room. But, before we'd even fully loaded the top shelf with stuff, it collapsed - the screws pulled out of the walls. DH did use special anchors for hanging shelves, but they didn't seem to do the trick. We're using pretty heavy-duty brackets and big painted…

Howdens, would I get a kitchen for under £1500,

As I cant get a price from Howdens as they are trade and we want to install ourselves, Im just wondering if Howdens is priced at all similar to B&Q ie if we only had £1500 to spend on a basic…
