Central heating problem

Hi. Can anyone help.
my potterton PRT2 room thermostat appears to have stopped working as i can't get it to switch, and therefore no central heating either.
if i turn the thermostat dial from a low temp setting to a higher one, the green light 'below' light goes out and the red 'reached' light comes on, but there is no clicking noise at all (as though the relay is not switching).
the lights appear to be fainter than normal as well.
Much appreciated if anyone can help.
