Enviromentally Friendly Paint Remover

Is there a way that's enviromentally friendly to remove paint? I need to remove gloss around a cupboard door and a window frame - I've checked the ingredients and they all contribute to CFCs in the atmosphere (Kudos to the makers, they actually say that on the tin). Is there another alternative - I don't trust myself with a heat gun.

addendum: It should be paint and not pain - though an eviromentally friendly pain remover would help in the office.

Instead of a heat gun sometimes a hair dryer can give enough heat to do the job not so much risk of setting yourself on fire either!

Take said cupboard outside and let weather do the job....can't be any more environmentally friendly than that !
