Responses from CAA
Hi anyone actually had the CAA investigate their complaint and respond? I emailed them in January, twice. Both times I got the standard 'we have received your complaint' email....but since then nothing. I emailed again asking when I could expect a reply and received a one line answer saying they had lots of complaints to…

Reply from United re delay
I used the template letter re a 4hr 57min flight delay at Dublin airport last year in respect of a United Airline Flight from Dublin to Washington. Initially the delay was due to crew issues and was further delayed because the baggage door could not be opened to remove baggage. United have replied 4 weeks after emailing…

Missed fllights
Hello I wonder if anyone has had the same experience as us. We were waiting for an EasyJet flight at Gatwick to be called while standing in a queue to get to departure desk. There were a number of women going up and down the rows calling out flights. Some of them had foreign accents and we found it very difficult to…

United Airlines - missed connection
Hi there! Do you guys reckon it would be worth putting in a claim to UA for the following (in brief!) Manchester to Montreal, with a transfer at Washington. airline staff kept us waiting at the plane door for 50 minutes to collect my 4 month old sons pram (which it turned out had been sent to baggage reclaim in error).…

Lufthansa claim rejected
Hi everyone, Looking for a bit of advice! My partner and I were due to fly to Larnaca via Frankfurt (only because this was the only option available through the airline) with Lufthansa in September last year. The day before we were due to fly I received an email to say our flight had been cancelled due to a strike (I…

British Airways price promise
Hi I was about to book flights to Florida with an online agent I don't know, when I decided to check the same flight on ba.com. It was slightly more expensive, but at least I knew that booking direct was safer. Then I noticed the BA Price Promise. Always feel confident when you book online at ba.com. If you find the same…

Jet2.com

Hi Folks Just wanted to let people know that it certainly is worth the effort to make a claim. Many thanks to Martins Money Tips and the template I used to write to Thomas Cook. I received a voucher (with conditions) for the sum of £2880!(there were 6 of us). When I stated to them that compensation must be paid in cash,…

Limitation Act
A flight from LHR to the USA in 2005 was delayed/cancelled and as a result we were over 24hours late and missed an arranged meeting. I tried claiming back in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and was denied a refund or free flight. I contacted BA in December 2012 to pursue the claim and they are now stating that the Limitation act 1980…

Comp turned down b/c I travelled on delayed plane
This is an odd one, and I haven't found anything like it while searching on the board Response from East Jet to my first letter (used the template): "As you will remember from our Terms and Conditions, when your flight is delayed for more than one hour beyond its scheduled departure time, if you do not wish to travel on…

Taking The Airlines To Court
I thought it might be useful to start a thread specifically with advice on how to manage the process of taking an airline to Court, and perhaps sharing airlines defences and such like. I have found MCOL so far quite easy to use, and hope people aren't put off from claiming what is their's. For those thinking about taking…
