Responses from CAA

Options
Hi anyone actually had the CAA investigate their complaint and respond?
I emailed them in January, twice. Both times I got the standard 'we have received your complaint' email....but since then nothing. I emailed again asking when I could expect a reply and received a one line answer saying they had lots of complaints to deal with.
Has anyone out there had a result and is there a time limit? My issue is with LOT airlines who claimed my delay was 'due to circumstances beyond their control' which they were not obliged to reveal to me. How do consumers know whether the airline is being honest if you are not allowed to know what the circumstances were that caused the delay? I didn't get anywhere with LOT and now the CAA are not answering me.
Thanks

  • i recieved a responce to say claim was valid as per the court ruling in europe in october nad had i written since this ruling, i advised i had and they then replied well the aircraft was coming from majorca to edinburgh so go to caa in spain......no wonder ryanair get awy with it, i was led to believe as the original flight was from edinburgh then caa here would deal, but they advised since the october ruling they are inundatred with claims, methinks no teeth and im still banging my head against a brick wall. The legislastion is there for a reason and these airlines know when the flights are delayed and who the passengers are, it should be automatic not consumers having to chase after them, after all they soon find you if you owe them.
The goverment needs to do more to bring them to book. The airlines are just laughing at the law pointless it being there and im still chasing ryanair and have never had any responce since I started my claim in may.
