Ground damage

Options
I have written to easyjet in an attempt to claim compensation for a delayed flight in 2010 (new regulations)

We were delayed overnight and flew out the next morning, easyjet replied saying the delay was due to ground damage resulting in the crew being out of hours.

Ground damage as far as I can see takes place during the servicing of the aircraft surely this is a preventable cause and is the FAULT of the airline

Possibly or it could be a vehicle not under the control of the airline or it's contractors, which does occur!
I suggest you need more detail than given.

I didn't realise you flew on the ground? ;)

Ask again for the exact circumstances. In the meantime google 'principle and agent' so that you are aware that if it is a refuelling truck then indeed it is within the airlines control and not an EC.
