Opt out of DD but pay by prepay instead?
Can someone tell me if this is an option... Is it possible to opt out of paying for electricity by DD & going to a pre-payment instead? that way I'd feel more in control of what I can afford to spend. It's the only way I can find to take back control! Thank you!

EDF direct debit changed
My monthly d/d jumped from £57 to £75 then up to £129 a month. Standing charge recover
Martin recently explained why standing charges on electricity increased to cover the cost of bailing out energy companies that folded. Is it therefore reasonable to assume that once that money has been recovered, that standing charges will revert to their original level. Or is that just a dream?

Just tried to do as advised and give a meter reading before the end of the month. just tried to log into SSE to give them and the website has gone down and now just get it is under maintainance.
