EDF direct debit changed

My monthly d/d jumped from £57 to £75 then up to £129 a month. I changed this on line down to £101 ( that was the lowest edf would lower it to as they have a threshold so customers dont get into debt) I then lowered it again last week on line down to £81, I never had a response to this so I just rung them and got it lowered down to £81. I was told they could only drop the direct debit payments down by 20%.
I am on economy 7 all electric and have storage heaters, I used to have my immersion on all night but now only have it on for about 2 hours on cheap rate when I get up in the mornings, my over night usage has dropped by a good third of my normal usage.

Does your DD amount actually cover your usage ?
Is you account in credit or debit ?
What tariff are you on and has a fix just ended ?

Only time will tell! with the price increase its made me more aware of what electricity Im using. Looking at the graph on edf my usage has gone down a lot over the past month.
I always pay the balance if any when the bill comes in.
Zero balance as I payed the debit balance.
My tarrif ends today, as of tomorrow I will be on the standard tarrif.0
