Octopus has me down for two gas meter!

Can anyone help whilst I wait for a reply from Octopus.
My bill shows two gas meters with different numbers. I checked the meter tonight they match with a number by a barcode and a number on a sticker for ID of meter.
Octopus seem to be billing for both numbers and when you login to submit meter reading it has both as separate meters.

Is there something I have overlooked or not understanding? On the submit meter reading page do others have just an electric and a gas? I have 1 electric and 2 gas.

Might help me sleep better as I have just dumped £600 in, submitted a meter reading into the top of the two gas ones and I am £500 in debt again. I looked back at my Avro account and they only ever had 1 meter ID for the gas.

thankyou.

There should only be one meter number on your meter. Can you share a photo of what you've got?
Are the readings on Octopus increasing for both meters, or only for one?

The one above the barcode is what always has been used but they seem to have another meter with the number on the sticker. Only the one by the barcode has increased recently with auto reading, but they have still billed both.

It looks like the data for the original meter that your current one replaced has been passed over to them from Avro as well as the current meter.
Should be an easy fix, just call the CS team in the morning.

    Thanks, I can sleep better!
Have emailed them all the photos so hopefully they rectify and refund me the duplicate charges I have paid. I checked the readings on both and they are the same so they do seem to be just charging the same meter twice on different meter numbers.

This one sits firmly at Avro’s door. When a smart meter is installed, the supplier is required to action the change on the National Database. It should also final bill the old meter using the reading on the sticker. Have you had a final bill for this meter?

In my experience, Octopus are pretty good at dealing with database issues; however, as the database is essentially a quasi-Government operation, it can take a little time.
