Has Eonnext website crashed with everyone trying to submit meter readings

Has anyone else had problems with the Eonnext website today ? .

Yes, I can't log in via a browser or the app.

Don't stress about it. It won't make any significant difference if you submit a meter reading tomorrow instead. 

I must remember to mention concerns like this when people are debating whether to get a smart meter in future though!

The phone line is constantly engaged too now!

I'm not a conspiracy theorist usually, but would it be outside the realms of possibility to consider that the website crashing and the phone system engaged weren't a complete accident! 🤔

Yes because it really won't make any significant difference to anyone whether a meter reading is submitted specifically today or not. This isn't like some one-time-only special offer that if you don't get it today you've missed out of for good.

Rather than a conspiracy I'd say issues today were entirely predictable.

I would suggest that, given Martin Lewis has told millions of people to submit meter readings today, the simpler explanation is that collapse of websites and overwhelming of the phone lines was pretty much inevitable.

British Gas website is down too.

For the 1 unit of gas I'm likely to use today its irrelevant.

Also unable to log in to EON.Next. But I have read the meters and taken pictures. Received a bill from them on 29th so no real problem.

Yes we can't login either but we have a smart meter and even if you don't take a picture of your reading and put it in at a later date.
