Smart meter not working properly for over 2 years - EDF now want £900!
Hi all, hope you are well. If this kind of question has been answered before, or I'm posting it in the wrong place, please let me know. To make a long story as brief as I can; my 70+ year old dad gets his energy from EDF. In August 2017, he had a smart meter fitted for electric and gas. I had a look at it then and several…

High electric usage/bill
Hi all, I hope someone can help me figure this out. Our electric Bill's have always been high and we put it down to having electric heating, we have the new Fischer heaters. But I've always thought that we were using a crazy amount none the less. My husband thinks I'm going mad. We have a 4 bed as part of an old granary…

Eon Back Bill
Hello, We moved into our rented property 3 years ago and when moving in had both an electricity and gas meter both on prepayment cards, we immediately switch to NPower and used the cards until the switch to the credit meters were made, this was all complete in 7-8 weeks from moving in. A few weeks ago I received a bill…

British Gas Nightmare
So I've been with BG for Gas only for 18 months. My old dumb meter was never read so always estimated bills. In October they said I was paying too much and made my payment £5 a month. Fitted a smart meter Nov 8th and now my bill has come in at £1453 in debit. The killer is that since my smart meter was fitted between Nov…

EDF Easy Online June20
Hi everyone. As per the title, I've been with EDF for dual fuel electric & gas for nearly 2 years. I started out on the Online Saver Apr19 tariff and when that ended last year I signed up for the Easy Online Jun20 tariff, which is what I'm currently on now until the end of June this year. I'm having problems with EDF and…

Should I leave my energy company while trying to escalate a complaint?
There's a bit of backstory here, but having read some of the topics on here a lot of it can be summarised by "Together Energy owe me money and won't pay me back" Backstory explanation starts here Like many other Together Energy customers, I used to have an account with OneSelect until they closed their doors in December…

Help with switching electric suppliers
Hi I'm on a prepayment meter with British Gas, but the latest change in where to pay is making it difficult for me. I have no arrears and own my own home. Is it possible to switch suppliers but also switch meter so I pay by direct debit at the same time to get a better rate? The compare sites seem to struggle to compare…

EON Smart meter and Inhouse display
Having recently had a SMETS2 smart meter fitted by EON, they give a nice little inhouse display (IHD) unit (made by Chameleon) to show your usage currently and historically. Splendid ! So when the engineer left me he said "I did put your IHD in the kitchen, but it didn't seem to get a connection....so I moved it to the…

VAT on electricity on a marina mooring
Hi, I moor my boat in a small residential marina in the north west and the owner is charging us 35p a unit for electricity plus 20% VAT which makes it an eye watering 42p a unit. When asked she said it had 'gone up' and was 'the best deal she could get'. We all think this isn't true and that she's adding money on to this.…

Covert gas unit to kwh costing.
If i use for example 5 units a day =55.9339 kwh. My gas tariff is 2.960 per day, standing charge 11.204 per day both including vat. Do i times 2.960 x 55.9339 + 11.204 for a days cost? Not a accurate figure but would that be around £1.80 per day or am i way off?

Problems with Eon - and the switch hasn't even gone through yet!
I changed from Scottish Power to Eon about 3 weeks ago through Martin's Cheap Energy Club website. I was a bit worried about leaving Scottish Power as I'd had no problems with them or their website but I wanted a better tariff. So I started the switch and received a letter from Eon about a week later to say I could now…

High Electric Bill
Bill for this month was £155 which im guessing is way too high for a 1 bed flat with one person residing in it ? I logged in online and can't go back as far as this time last year but the obvious trend is during the winter it's high and in the summer its as low as £37 I suspect the fact one of my large electric heaters has…

Scottish Power sending final bill 15 months after account closure - help please
Hi, I switched from Scottish Power to Bulb back in September 2018. At the time this took place, I received final bills from Scottish Power for both Electricity and Gas, one said no payment required, and the other was in credit (for which I think I remember receiving a cheque). Now, 15 months later, I have suddenly been…

Hello, Recently moved into a new house which has Eon gas and electricity meters. Does this forum have an active BG representative?
Does this forum have an active BG representative? I know some energy providers do. If yes. Since we seem to be getting conflicting information from the telephone representatives and also from the emails perhaps he/she could answer the following questions about the breeze takeover. 1) When will the BG tariffs be applied?…
