PFP Energy has taken over Better Energy customers?
Dear All, I received an email in error this morning about an apparently failed transfer of energy supplier to PFP Energy because of a credit rating issue. Of course, I was surprised by this as I didn't apply to transfer my energy. Upon further investigations, it seems PFP Energy have acquired my current energy provider,…

British Gas wrongly took over my supply
So as the title states, British Gas have wrongly taken over my electricity supply. The house directly next door to my home is social rented/housing accossiation. (I own my home so have nothing to do with the housing accossiation). When their property was stood empty recently from July to Oct, the housing who own it have…

Position of my boiler flue - dangerous?
Apologises ahead of the long story: So last year I bought and moved into my one bedroom, ground floor apartment and the boiler has been playing up from time to time. It got me through last winter and then started playing up for hot water within the summer. But the way this is designed now - I have a specific boiler…

Smart meters no use with Igloo?
I am in the process of switching to Igloo from Utility Point. I have a smart meter which was installed by British Gas several years ago (I think it's a SMETS1 meter). Until now I have been able to use my smart meter to see meter readings on the remote display (even though I moved from British Gas to Utility Point), but now…

RF Room Thermostat
Hi, My elderly parents have a 3 1/2 year old Worcester Bosch Greenstar 28i junior combi boiler and the rf room thermometer that was installed at the same time (a Center EHE0200361 RF Programmable Room Thermometer) has an issue with the digital display - it keeps going blank when you touch it. The batteries have been…

CMA has cleared proposed sale of SSE Energy Services to OVO Group
So it looks like the OVO Energy group will now be able to proceed with the proposed takeover of the energy retail arm of SSE. Fascinating to see a company started 10 years ago now become on of the big boys in the energy market. What do you think the impact of this will be and how will effect the energy market?

Backbilling problems - EDF
Hoping someone has got some advice for this... We've been with EDF for just over 2 years now. In August we got a random £400+ payment back into our account in credit. It turned out our smart meter was bust and they said they'd come and have a look at it. We paid the money back so we weren't hit with a bill later on. Anyway…

Economy 7
I think my economy seven switch is faulty as I put it on last night as and had no hot water this morning. I tried the other switch for 2 hours and then the hot water came out fine so may not be a problem with the boiler ? My question is, does it cost the same as economy 7 during the night by using the other switch ? Thanks

Boiler and thermostat advise needed
I have recently moved into my first home. The house has a Worcester Greenstar Si combi boiler. When we moved in there was no thermostat for the boiler, something I know the previous owners did have. Currently we are heating the home by simply having the boiler either on or off, something that isn't the most energy…

SSE - Warm Home Discount ?
SSE is my electricity supplier, they set my monthly direct debit by what they project my usage will be, but every December I find I've overpaid SSE by approx £140. They don't include the warm home discount which comes off my bill every October. I would rather have a lower monthly payment, as opposed to being £140 in credit…

Smets 2 problem
Quite recently Shell Energy installed a Smets 2 Meter and for a time the energy display monitor worked correctly. However about a month ago it stopped receiving electricity info from the meter. After contacting Shell Energy a couple of times they tell me there is a problem with the Smets 2 meters and that it is a…

Rointe radiators
I’ve just moved to a rented flat with all electric heating. There are Rointe radiators in the hall, bedroom and sitting room and towel rail in the bathroom. Despite being a supposedly energy efficient system, I have used 110 units of electricity in my first five days here and I cannot afford that on my pension, not to…

Worcester GreenStar i MT10 Timer Coming on Randomly
Hi everyone, I have a Worcester GreenStar i MT10 Timer coming on randomly when the little dials are off. It should go off at 9pm but the radiators come on after that, and through the night randomly when the timer is on only. The thermostat in the hall is set to about 25 degrees if that matters. In the (non-timer) off/on…

Not being allowed to switch
Hello, I recently took over the bills at my address. I managed to change the details for the water to myself without any problems. However, when it came to the gas and electricity, that's where the problems began. I have lived at my current address for over 20 years with my 2 brothers and family. The bills were in my older…

estimated gas usage for 1bed flat
Hi I just moved into a 1 bedroom flat with a pre payment gas meter and I would like to budget for the foreseeable year. Are there's any statistics available to the public for average usage of gas (not estimated) in KWs that I could also convert into cubic meters so I can keep a meter check Thanks
