estimated gas usage for 1bed flat
Hi
I just moved into a 1 bedroom flat with a pre payment gas meter and I would like to budget for the foreseeable year.
Are there's any statistics available to the public for average usage of gas (not estimated) in KWs that I could also convert into cubic meters so I can keep a meter check
Thanks

Why do you want to convert to m3 ? It's the kWh that matters.
8000 kWh at say 3.5p = £280 plus Vat = £300Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
I live in a one bed flat...5 radiators. Normal meter £37 per month for duel fuel with Shell...a 3 year fix which ends in January will then be £41 per month, retired so home more than a worker.0

I'm in a 2 bed flat (Scotland), ex-council, concrete, purpose built, costs £16pm.
Water is an on-demand boiler.
Radiators x5 and one towel rail go on for an hour or two when it's really cold, which tends to be a couple months a year.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Hi,so I can watch the meter tick over like slow drying paint
Attitude,, especially from a Newbie, very seldom works, people are here to help you.
How do you know you will be an average user, you may need lots of heat in winter or happy to sit with hot water bottle and a shawl.
So, it's a one bed flat, that's all you've told us.
How many radiators, are they fitted with TRVs?
Is gas used for hot water/shower/cooking?
Will you be at home during the day?
Your meter will tell you how many cubic metres used, (not cubic meters) so read it every day to start with.0 -
The last paragraph of the last post summed it up really. Read you meter regularly. Know how much your charges are & work out how much it is costing you. Your circumstances are your's alone. Many can live below 15 degrees (definitely not me) and many need 25 degrees. "Normal" in these terms does not exist!0

As has been said above there are too many variables to give a comparison. For example the age of the boiler, the boiler controls, shower type, building age, insulation installed, how many hours you are at home per day, how hot you like to be, your energy tariff, all of these will have an effect on your energy bills.
People can tell you that they spend £30pcm on a dual fuel account but how do you know that account is not hundreds of pounds in debt as their payment isn't covering their usage?
The only way you can work out your own usage is to take regular meter readings and keep track of your own bills.0
