SSE announce CMA has cleared proposed sale of SSE Energy Services to OVO Group

SSE PLC (LON:SSE) has welcomed the Competition and Markets Authority’s decision to clear the proposed sale of SSE Energy Services, SSE’s household energy and services business in GB, to OVO Group.

So it looks like the OVO Energy group will now be able to proceed with the proposed takeover of the energy retail arm of SSE.

Fascinating to see a company started 10 years ago now become on of the big boys in the energy market.

What do you think the impact of this will be and how will effect the energy market?

I don't think it will make a blind bit of difference. They are all money grabbing rip off merchants & generally liars to boot.

Wonder what happens to those who were on SSE with the reducuced price Broadband contract or are OVO taking over their Broadband as well.

From last Septermber too:

SSE's broadband and home phone customers will also be moved over to Ovo as part of the deal.
